Ideal timing: the afternoon you arrive, before the festival starts, or a valley rest day mid-fortnight. Skip it on Sunday 4 October: the 2 pm departure sits inside the launch event's 11 am to 4 pm window.
A spare morning or a second evening

A 2-hour morning walk through Fremantle, with recent departures at 10 am. $65 per adult, $45 per child, morning beverage included. Ideal timing: a valley-free morning. You are done by midday.
Crimes of Perth
A 1.5-hour evening true-crime walk, $60. It runs on select evenings with specialist guides, so check dates rather than banking on a particular night. Ideal timing: a lighter evening, when three hours of bars is more than you want.
