Sydney’s small bar tours expand to Darlinghurst

A special tour will explore another charming pocket of Sydney’s suburbs as Two Feet & a Heartbeat expand their popular Eat/Drink/Walk Sydney tours to Darlinghurst for the evening of Thursday 23 January.

Darlinghurst was once a slum and a red-light district, however since undergoing extensive urban renewal it has become a cosmopolitan and charismatic precinct. While still associated with Sydney’s gay community, it offers a diverse array of small bars and unique establishments for all tastes.

Walking tour company Two Feet & a Heartbeat – who were recent finalists in the New South Wales Tourism Awards – already conduct popular small bar walking tours and heritage tours in the CBD. They have discovered, however, that locals have an insatiable appetite to re-discover their own neighbourhoods.

Two Feet’s Michelle Pastor said the Darlinghurst night tour would include the quirky establishments of Darlie Laundromatic, Pocket Bar and Downtown @ The Commons.

“We will explore Darlinghurst in a fun, relaxed and sophisticated way while enjoying samples of house specialties along the way. It’s a great way to experience Sydney’s flourishing small bar scene while learning a bit about the area’s rich history,” she said.

“It’s been fantastic to meet so many locals who are excited to get out and explore areas they have lived in for years but are only now taking the time to get to know. We are also looking forward to another tour of Darlinghurst to be debuted during the Mardi Gras”.

Eat/Drink/Walk Darlinghurst departs at 6.30pm on Thursday 23 January from beneath the giant Coke sign on the Corner of Darlinghurst Rd and William St. Bookings can be made at www.twofeet.com.au.
