More accessible walking tours in Perth: We accept the Companion Card

Two Feet & a Heartbeat is now an official WA Companion Card Affiliate. If you hold a valid Companion Card, your companion can join you at no charge for tour admission, so you can experience Perth with the support you need.

This post explains exactly how the Companion Card applies to our tours, what is and is not included, and how to book so everything is clear upfront.

What is the WA Companion Card?

The Companion Card Program supports Western Australians with a significant and permanent disability who require attendant care support to participate at community venues and events. When a cardholder books with an affiliate, a second ticket is issued for the companion at no charge.

What the Companion Card covers on our tours

If you are a Companion Card holder and you require a companion to participate, here is how it works with Two Feet & a Heartbeat:

Included

  • Companion tour admission is free of charge when you book a paid tour with us and provide valid Companion Card details.
  • This applies to one companion per cardholder unless agreed at booking.

Not automatically included

This is the important part. Some of our tours include food, drinks, tastings, tickets, or other paid inclusions.

Our policy: The Companion Card covers the tour cost for the companion only. If the tour includes food, drink or tastings, the companion is responsible for paying those costs if they choose to participate in those inclusions.

What we do to prevent confusion: We will confirm any companion inclusion costs at the time of booking, in writing.

Tours with food, drink, or tastings: how it works in practice

  • The Companion Card covers the companion’s tour admission.
  • The companion may need to pay for drinks, tastings, or meal components if they want to take part.
  • We will tell you exactly what is included and what is not before you confirm your booking.

How to book a tour with a Companion Card

To make sure the companion ticket is applied correctly (and any inclusions are clear), we ask Companion Card holders to book by contacting us directly.

When you contact us, include:

  • The tour name and preferred date and time
  • That you are a Companion Card holder
  • Any access needs or considerations we should plan for
  • If the tour includes tastings or drinks, whether the companion plans to participate in those inclusions

A note on accessibility

Acceptance of the Companion Card does not automatically mean a venue or activity is accessible for every person or every access requirement. Our tours move through real streetscapes, precincts, and venues, so accessibility can vary depending on kerbs, gradients, surfaces, crossings, crowd levels, weather, and venue layouts.

If you contact us before booking, we can recommend the best tour for your needs and discuss pace, rest points, and any specific considerations for the route and stops.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Two Feet & a Heartbeat is a WA Companion Card Affiliate and provides one companion ticket at no charge for tour admission when the cardholder requires attendant care support.

What does the Companion Card cover on your tours?

It covers the tour cost for the companion. The cardholder pays their own ticket as normal.
